The agreement was signed in the presence of Serbian Minister of EU Integration Jadranka Joksimovic and EU Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn.

A statement from the EU Delegation to Serbia, cited by Beta, said that this financial support is intended for educational reforms from 2017 to 2019, aimed at improving the quality of the education system in order to align it with the needs of the labor market and EU standards, with a special emphasis on the issues related to education in minority languages and Roma students.

Through the agreement, the EU will support the implementation of measures from Chapter 23 (Rule of Law) Action Plan and the 2016-2025 Strategy for Social Inclusion of Roma, in order to increase the number of Roma children attending school, but also the quality of their education.
