Vucic: Macedonia will vote for Kosovo in UNESCO

"We know what they are doing, we wish them no ill, although they have recognized Kosovo, although they will vote for Kosovo's accession to UNESCO," Vucic said.

The president added that he would support any "difficult decision" made by the Serbian government if he thought they were right to make it, and recalled "the case with France."

"It was the same with France, nothing happened, but at least we saved face," said he.

Vucic also said that he would "speak openly" during his telephone conversation with Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev on Wednesday, and that "relations between the two countries will be - not so great and not at the highest level - but they will be decent."

"And how did I know that he would change his mind about UNESCO ... Dacic told them, he told them exactly, and that's why I say again that they know what kind of things we know."

Vucic added that Dacic - Serbia's first deputy prime minister and foreign minister - is doing his job well, "because he works in the interest of Serbia," and noted that "not everyone has to like it - we are not here to be liked by somebody but to do protect the interests of the state."
