Erdogan to visit Serbia "in late September" - report

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will arrive on an official visit to Serbia in late September, the Belgrade daily Vecernje Novosti said on Tuesday.

Erdogan to visit Serbia "in late September" - report

According to the newspaper, Erdogan should talk with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic about cooperation in the textile industry, privatization of Serbian spas, as well the Turkish Stream gas pipeline, one branch of which should pass through Serbia.

The presidents of Serbia and Turkey spoke in early July in Istanbul, where Vucic participated in the 22nd World Oil Congress.

On Monday in Belgrade, Vucic met with the head of Turkey's National Intelligence Organization, Hakan Fidan, when they discussed "security challenges faced by the two countries."

According to a statement published on the president's official website, Vucic asked Fidan to convey his greetings to Erdogan, and invited him to visit Serbia.
