Minister of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Zoran Djordjevic met on Monday in Belgrade with Spanish Ambassador to Serbia Miguel Fuertes.

Serbia will always have faithful ally in Spain - ambassador

Djordjevic "stressed that this agreement was necessary in order to provide comprehensive protection to our citizens who live and work in Spain, and vice versa."

The interlocutors noted that relations between Serbia and Spain are developed, but that there is room for further improvement of cooperation in areas under the competence of the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs.

Fuertes stressed that Spain supports Serbia in the process of negotiations to join the European Union, and said that Serbia will always have a faithful ally in his country.

The diplomat added that Spain would, within its possibilities, strive to provide full support to Serbia in the development of social security and protection of citizens' rights.

Djordjevic and Fuertes agreed to intensify cooperation in the field of European integration and social protection in the upcoming period, as well as to use high-level visits to launch cooperation in new areas.
