New PM sacks 50 state secretaries from 16 ministries

The previous government led by Aleksandar Vucic had 50 state secretaries in 16 ministries - and they have all been relieved of their duties by the new PM.

Ana Brnabic's decision has been published in the Official Gazette, the magazine Nedeljnik writes, citing a FoNet report.

According to this, the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs employed six such officials, followed by ministries of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, and Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, that had five each.

Ministries of Health, Education, and State Administration and Local Self-Government had four state secretaries each, followed by ministries of Economy, Interior Affairs, and Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications (three each), and Justice, Mining and Energy, and Foreign Affairs (two each).

The Ministry of Defense had one state secretaries, as did ministries of Culture and Information, and Sports and Youth, respectively.


Vucic receives letters from China's leaders

President Aleksandar Vucic on Thursday received Chinese Ambassador Li Manchang, who handed him letters from Chinese President Xi Jinping and PM Li Keqiang.
