Kosovo: Journalist associations endorse OSCE recommendations

Two journalist associations in Kosovo have announced that they endorsed recommendations made during an OSCE regional conference on the safety of journalists.

Kosovo: Journalist associations endorse OSCE recommendations

Chairpersons of the two associations, Shkelqim Hysenaj and Budimir Nicic "endorse the creation of a commission to investigate cases of murdered and missing journalists in Kosovo and call upon the law enforcement bodies and institutions of justice to provide special protection to journalists and to prosecute timely all cases of crimes committed against journalists in Kosovo," a statement said, and added:

"Chairpersons also agree to cooperate and work closely with law enforcement to process all cases involving journalists and other media professionals with priority, and expect from prosecution to shed light on the killed and missing journalists as soon as possible."
