The Serbian prime minister said he and Kurz discussed the two countries' 2017 action plan, the Berlin Process and Austria's OSCE chairmanship and support for Serbia's European path.

"Kurz is always constructive, he is absolutely helping and supporting Serbia and the Western Balkans, and always offering the best ideas for our European path," Vucic told reporters after the meeting, noting Kurz was "an exceptional young leader he considered a true friend of Serbia, the Balkans and Europe."

Vucic "expressed gratitude to the government of Austria and Kurtz, stressing that Serbia knows how to recognize true friends and the people who support our progress not only towards the EU, but also support in the economic field," the government said in a statement.

Vucic, who is attending the World Economic Forum, has had a series of significant meetings in Davos over the past three days, including with EU foreign policy and security chief Federica Mogherini and NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, and also spoke on the phone with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Vucic will today participate in a panel dubbed Go East: Strengthening Europe's Neighbors, along with his Croatian counterpart Andrej Plenkovic.

Other participants will include Kurz, Hahn, and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
