He said it was crucial that his future government implement a certain program and measures to ensure the next four years were "years of joy."

He reiterated he was "not interested in running for president" next year, "or making political calculations even though the latest surveys suggested he would win a presidential election."

In the second half of August, Serbia needs to undergo a sixth review under the stand-by arrangement with the International Monetary Fund, Vucic said, adding that he would also have meetings with top U.S., Russian and Kazakh officials in the same period and that the government should therefore be formed in the first half of the month.

Asked whether there were any pressures when it comes to the process of setting up the country's new government, Vucic replied by saying that "Serbia is strong enough - and it goes without saying many wish to have a more significant influence on it."

This is nothing new, he went on, adding that "it used to be that tycoons would select governments in this country."

"They can't do that today, not them, not somebody from the outside," said Vucic, adding that "today, citizens decide on that."

He then advised "people not to worry.

"It won't be too big a problem, while personnel solutions are less important," he said.

Vucic made these statements while visiting a gallery in Belgrade where his SNS party has organized the "Uncensored Lies" exhibition.
