On Wednesday, another Belgrade newspaper, Vecernje Novosti, said, quoting multiple sources close to the authorities, that Mali was "ready to resign in the coming days."

But Danas writes that it learned this was not true from top circles of government, and that Belgrade Assembly President Nikola Nikodijevic commented by saying: "Have you any idea how busy we are? We can't be dealing with denying media reports every day."

Meanwhile, the civil initiative ("Ne da(vi)mo Beograd") that has been organizing protests and demanding Mali's resignation over the April 24 demolition of buildings in the Savamala district has announced a new protest for July 13.

They consider Mali, the interior minister, the president of the Belgrade Assembly, as well as of the acting police director and the chief of the Communal Police responsible in the case.
