Washington "readies plan for Kosovo's NATO membership"

The self-proclaimed state of Kosovo intends to, in the coming period, launch the process of joining NATO.

Media in Pristina are reporting that Kosovo's ambassador to the U.S., Vlora Citaku, said that the U.S. Congress adopted an amendment calling on the country's administration to "prepare Kosovo to join Partnership for Peace (PfP)."

This bilateral cooperation program is referred to as "an entrance hall" to NATO.

According to these reports, Citaku said that the U.S. Congress adopted the decision unanimously.
