Vucic meets with ambassador ahead of trip to U.S.

On the eve of his visit to the United States Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic received on Friday U.S. Ambassador in Belgrade Michael Kirby.

Vucic meets with ambassador ahead of trip to U.S.

The government said in a statement that "Vucic and Kirby noted that bilateral relations between the two countries are on the rise and that there are great possibilities for improving cooperation in all areas," while

Kirby said that "Serbia offers great advantages to potential investors regarding the business conditions and the quality of the workforce."

During his visit to the United States Vucic will also meet with representatives of some of America's leading companies, as well as with World Bank President Jim Yong Kim.

"When it comes to refugee crisis, he said that Serbia, as a responsible state, is ready to assume responsibility and share the burden with other European countries, although it is not a member of the EU," the government statement said, and added:

"The US ambassador welcomed the responsibility and organization with which Serbia treats refugees arriving to Serbia."
