Serbia needs rational and normal relations with Croatia but "Serbia will not be ashamed" for respecting Serb victims, says Aleksandar Vucic.

PM "can't understand people who celebrate persecution"
The Serbian prime minister was in the town of Leskovac when sirens were sounded at noon and when his motorcade stopped as a sign of respect for the victims."I don't understand people who celebrate persecution of a population. Six days and six nights would be needed just to read out the list of people who left Croatia," Vucic said, in reference to Operation Storm celebrations in Croatia, and the ethnic Serbs expelled from that country 20 years ago.
Vucic added that he "also does not understand the stance toward Serbs that exists in Croatia now."
"However, Serbia should do everything it can to turn all the tears, suffering and misfortunes of our people into a fight and energy for a better Serbian economy," said he, and added:
"We have taught ourselves and our fellow citizens to respect others' victims, but what has changed and is changing is that we will not be ashamed of respecting our own, we will respect them no less than we respect others."
According to Vucic, "this speaks about Serbia's new strength," and also about a past when "Serbia could not allow itself such things because of its small power, but also because of the will of the political elites."
