Congressmen: Assistance and support to Serbia's EU accession

"As co-chairs of a bipartisan caucus that gathers both republican and democratic congressmen, we want to provide assistance in the development of relations between Serbia and the U.S. We wish to do what we can to make sure Serbia joins the EU," , Poe told Serbia's state broadcaster RTS.

Poe and Cleaver conferred with Serbia Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic in Washington.

Cleaver told RTS said that "Serbia, as a genuine friend of the U.S., is making enormous progress in the region and that they wish to help Serbia as much as is possible."

The two congressmen promised support to Serbia in attracting investments. It would be significant for both countries if the scope of trade increased, Cleaver said and expressed the hope that this can be achieved.
