Serbia "should demonstrate to U.S. it is on EU path"

Speaking on the occasion of the visit of Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic to the United States, Miscevic spoke for the state broadcaster RTS and reminded the audience that "the U.S. is not an EU member" but is EU's most important economic and political partner.

"America cannot make a decision, but it can very much so convey a good feeling of all those things that the prime minister will speak about and present what has been done so far, especially in the field of the rule of law and changes to laws that bring us closer to European standards, so that we become interesting for investors" - said Miscevic.

She added that she expected discussions on important political issues such as regional stability, a topic she said in the past days saw "lively diplomatic activity," as well as "information about the results of dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina."

This official pointed out to "the unequivocal assessment that Serbia is the most important country in the region in the Western Balkans."

"This is a great opportunity for the prime minister to in right place in Washington present what Serbia has done so far. This is the best way to show why it is important for Serbia to go further," said Miscevic.

Speaking about Vucic's visit to leading U.S. companies, Miscevic added that Serbia is "a small country on the map also for large global companies" and that this is "a chance for the highest ranking political figure in Serbia to present the possibilities and potentials, guaranteeing that Serbia is the right place to invest."
