"Serbia values peace more than anything else"

“We are really ready and that needs to be said to everybody. Anyone who dares to create any kind of unpleasant situation in Serbia can count on a resistance from the whole of Serbia, and the unity of the army and police proves that,” said Nikolic, who visited the Serbian army military base South (Jug) and the Sevadske Livade facility within the 5-kilometre zone that extends beyond the Kosovo province border in southern Serbia close to the border with Macedonia.

“Since we are dealing with terrorism spilling over from Kosovo to Macedonia and since we know the plans of the policy-makers organizing all that, we have told the military and Gendarmerie that they are in peacetime, but should behave as if they were in wartime, as it is better safe than sorry when it comes to level of training and security,” said Nikolic.

Nikolic pointed to the importance of cooperation with KFOR and the international forces.

“This here is Serbia that could live much calmer if there were not for challenges from the outside, but even in the situation as it is, Serbia shows that it is a state valuing peace as the most important thing of all and willing to do everything to make keep that peace stable forever,” said the Serbian president.
