Brussels: New round of Belgrade-Pristina talks

The talks will begin in the evening hours, and the delegations will be headed by Prime Ministers of Serbia and Kosovo, Aleksandar Vucic and Isa Mustafa respectively.

The officials will review the progress in the implementation of the agreements reached in the dialogue and exchange views on the way forward in the normalization process, reads a statement issued by Mogherini's office.

The previous meeting, during which the two sides inked an agreement on the judiciary, was held on February 9 after being suspended for seven months because of the elections and formation of a new government in Kosovo.

Serbian Government Office for Kosovo Director Marko Djuric said last week he informed a preparatory meeting held in Brussels ahead of this round about the desire of the Serb people in Kosovo for a community of Serb municipalities to be formed as soon as possible.

While in Brussels on Tuesday, Vucic will also meet with President of the European Council Donald Tusk, Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn, and have a separate meeting with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama.

The Serbian prime minister will take part in a "Western Balkan Six" meeting on the integration of the region's transport services into the common European network.

Vucic and his counterparts from the western Balkan countries and from Kosovo will discuss with the EC commissioners investments in crucial transportation infrastructure that should interconnect this region, the Beta news agency reported.

At a recent, similar meeting in Pristina Hahn said that the European Commission was ready to ensure EUR 1 billion to fund transportation infrastructure in the western Balkans.

The European Commission has said it "expects the meeting, with a joint statement, to confirm an agreement on the construction of a key transportation network and consider substantive ways to accomplish this."
