FM advises region against taking "steps back"

The statement was made after the governments from Tirana and Pristina held a joint session under the motto, "One people, one land, one dream."

"The thesis about national unification is intended for the electorate. Every nation that joins the EU can say it, but where does that lead?," he asked, and, according to reports, added that "we must not allow the drone syndrome" to influence matters "of historical importance" - such as the visit of Rama to Belgrade and the encompassing of all projects and their joint presentation to the EU.

Dacic also "warned" his colleagues to "tone down" their approach and focus on what is positive, "because now we have a 'one step forward, two steps back' situation in our mutual relations."

In addition, Dacic said that a future community of Serb municipalities in Kosovo will be "a form of association," but that "it cannot be a non-governmental organization" - something "advocated by Pristina."

Speaking after the conference, he told reporters that "the only thing Pristina authorities always emphasized as important is that Serbs in Kosovo cannot be organized based on the principle of the Serb Republic (RS)."
