Gasic: Serbia to remain military neutral

“The ones who signed all contracts with NATO in 2006 are now criticizing our acts. Serbia, the Ministry of Defence, the Serbian Armed Forces and the Serbian government adhere to the contractual obligations imposed in the previous period when the Partnership for Peace Programme was signed with NATO,” Gasic said.

He underlined that the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces are military neutral, and that they have friends both in the east and the west.

“We have a great number of joint actions with the Russian Federation, the United States of America and other partners. The Serbian Armed Forces is thus raising its operational capability, experience and knowledge to the highest level. This is not a silent accession or any other kind of accession. The Serbian parliament has made a decision that Serbia is neutral in military terms and end of story,” Gasic said.
