Vučić, Mogherini: Close and friendly bilateral relations

Serbian PM Aleksandar Vučić and Italian Foreing Minister Federica Mogherini agreed on Monday that the two countries maintain very close and friendly relations.

Vučić, Mogherini: Close and friendly bilateral relations

During the meeting with the Italian minister, Vučić said that Italy is one of Serbia's most reliable partners and is seen as a sincere friend in Serbia. He also expressed gratitude for the support of Rome to Serbia's European integration process.

Mogherini underscored the importance of continuity of friendly ties, and noted that Italy will continue to support Serbia's European perspective and the continuation of the dialogue with Priština.

It has been agreed that the joint session of the two governments should be held in Belgrade by the end of the year, and that the focus of the talks should rest primarily on economic issues and topics from the energy sector.

The talks also covered the situation in the region and the situation in Ukraine.

During her visit to Belgrade, Mogherini also conferred with Serbian President Tomislav Nikolić and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dačić.

The Italian minister also met with Parliament Speaker Maja Gojković and will take part in the panel discussion in the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.
