Member of the Kosovo Election Commission Nenad Rikalo says this body decided to allow the use of all valid documents for the voting on Sunday.

"Voting in Kosovo will be possible with Serbian IDs"

"All current documents can be used, including personal identification cards, passports, refugee or displaced person identification papers and UNMIK personal identification cards, which are not valid anymore, but will be accepted on election day," he noted.

Election silence begins at midnight CET on Friday and will last until the polling stations are closed on Sunday evening.

There are 1,782,454 registered voters in Kosovo and almost 34,000 of them will be voting for the first time.

The commission accredited over 400 observers, while five Serb lists will be taking part in the election.
