Parliament elects new Serbian government

Serbia's new government, led by Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić, was elected late on Sunday in the country's parliament in Belgrade with 198 votes in favor.

Parliament elects new Serbian government

23 MPs were against, six abstained from voting, while one "refused to vote," Tanjug reported.

Ivica Dačić is the new first deputy prime minister and also serves as foreign minister.

Zorana Mihajlović is deputy prime minister, and minister of construction, transport, and infrastructure. Another deputy PM is Rasim Ljajić, who also serves as minister of trade, telecommunications, and tourism.

The fourth deputy prime minister is Kori Udovički, and she also holds the office of minister of public administration and local self-government.

Other members of the new cabinet include: Minister of Finance Lazar Krsitć, Minister of Economy Dušan Vujošević, Minister of Agriculture Snežana Bogosavljević-Bošković, Minister of Energy and Mining Aleksandar Antić, Minister of Justice Nikola Selaković, Minister of Education, Science, and Technological Development Srđan Vrbić, Minister of Health Zlatibor Lončar, Minister of Culture Ivan Tasovac, Minister of Labor, Veteran and Social Issues Aleksandar Vulin, Minister of Sport and Youth Vanja Udovičić, Minister of Interior Affairs Nebojša Stefanović, and ministers without portfolio Velimir Ilić and Jadranka Joksimović, in charge of emergency situations and EU integration, respectively.

All members of the cabinet took the following oath of office:

"I pledge to be loyal to the Republic of Serbia and promise with my honor to obey the Constitution and laws, and to carry out the duty of a government member conscientiously, responsibly and diligently, committed to preserving Kosovo and Metohija within the Republic of Serbia."

Earlier on Sunday, PM Vučić said in his expose that the three most important tasks of the new government will be an economic reform that implies the passage of a set of reform laws, private sector development, and budget consolidation through spending cuts.
