EU's Ashton expected in Belgrade next week

A European Commission official who wished to remain anonymous told Tanjug that the most likely date for the visit is next Monday, April 28, considering that parliament is expected to confirm the country's new government by then.

While in Belgrade Ashton is expected to meet with future Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić and other members of his government and discuss the process of European integration, the continuation of the dialogue between Belgrade and Priština and the normalization of relations, as well as the implementation of the Brussels agreement reached in April of last year.

The 23rd round of dialogue was held in Brussels on March 31 with the participation of the now former Prime Minister Ivica Dačić and Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci. On this occasion they reached preliminary agreement on the judicial system in the northern part of Kosovo.

As Dačić previously announced, the composition of the new Belgrade team for the dialogue will be determined by Vučić.
