PM hopes ICJ trial "won't complicate relations"

"If arguments made in the trial are recounted in the media, this will additionally stir up national passions" he also told reporters in Belgrade.

The outgoing prime minister then noted that Serbia was "ready to refute the Croatian suit," while Serbia's case was "based on sufficient evidence."

"Whatever happened in the past we must put an end to it," Dačić said, and added that it had been Serbia's desire for both lawsuits to be withdrawn simultaneously.

"For the sake of settling all historical acounts it is good to bring the trial to an end, and that international organs give their opinion, and pass judgement," he concluded.
