BELGRADE Serbian Orthodox Church Patriarch Irinej is on Tuesday morning serving Christmas liturgy at the Cathedral Church in Belgrade, in the presence of PM Ivica Dacic. Along with the believers gathered for the ceremony, Roman Catholic Archbishop of Belgrade Stanislav Hocevar and representatives of the Islamic Community of Serbia are also in attendance. The patriarch said that badnjak was "a solid wood with great zeal and strong flame," whose light should fill all with love for themselves, their loved ones, and all other people. In Kosovo, Orthodox, Julian calendar Christmas ceremonies are attended at the Gracanica monastery by First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, Minister without Portfolio Aleksandar Vulin, and Defense Minister Nebojsa Rodic. Also present were all elected mayors from the Srpska election ticket, its officials, local leaders of the Serb Progressive Party and the Socialist Party of Serbia, as well as representatives of international organizations and the EULEX mission in Kosovo.
