BELGRADE A new meeting in Brussels is being planned for January 19, two days before the first intergovernmental conference between Serbia and the EU. The conference will mark the start of Serbia's membership negotiations. New round of dialogue planned for Jan. 19 EU foreign policy Catherine Ashton will in the coming days invite Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic and Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci for a new round of dialogue, a daily writes. The main topic will be the formation of the Community of Serb municipalities, according to the Belgrade-based Vecernje Novosti. The paper writes that this timing is not accidental, because the list of Kosovo-related obligations that the EU will put in front of Serbia in Chapter 35 will, to a large extent, depend on the outcome of "the new round of arm wrestling in Brussels." According to the article, the previous rounds of the dialogue, held on December 13, ended in a fiasco because Thaci insisted that the basic court in northern Kosovska Mitrovica should cover three municipalities with an Albanian majority - which would undermine the ethnic structure of employees, at the expense of Serbs. "It would also undermine the judiciary pillars of future Community, which Pristina has been undermining at each step," said Vecernje Novosti. (File) Vecernje novosti
