BELGRADE Chief Hague Prosecutor Serge Brammertz is in Belgrade where he is conferring with Prime Minister Ivica Dacic and War Crimes Prosecutor Vladimir Vukcevic. He is also meeting with representatives of the international community. Hague prosecutor meeting with state officials Brammertz yesterday, on the first day of his visit, met with President of the National Council for Cooperation with the Hague Tribunal Rasim Ljajic, and said that his report on Serbia's cooperation - due to be present to the United Nations in December - will be positive. During the meeting, Ljajic and Brammertz agreed that cooperation between Serbia and the Hague prosecution was on a very high level when it came to submission of documents, access to archives of state authorities and witnesses, and that there are no outstanding issues, announced the minister's cabinet. Brammertz informed Ljajic about the stages of individual trials currently held before the Tribunal. Ljajic once again brought up the issue of Serbia's initiative that persons convicted by the court be allowed to serve their sentence in the countries of the region, particularly emphasizing the willingness of Serbia to conclude such an agreement with the Hague. The National Council for Cooperation with the Tribunal will in the future continue to take all necessary measures to ensure that cooperation in all areas proceeded smoothly, the statement said.
