"For now (President Putin) does not plan to visit Serbia by the end of the year," the source said.

The media in Serbia reported previously that the Russian president could visit Serbia by the end of 2013 in order to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the branch of the South Stream pipeline in Serbia.

Serbian President Tomislav Nikolić was in Moscow on Wednesday where he said that construction works on the pipeline would start by the end of the year.

He on previous occasions invited Putin to attend the ceremonies.
