Serbia, Romania to hold joint session next year

A joint session of the governments of Serbia and Romania will be held early next year, two countries' Prime Ministers Ivica Dačić and Victor Ponta have stated.

BUCHAREST A joint session of the governments of Serbia and Romania will be held early next year, two countries' Prime Ministers Ivica Dacic and Victor Ponta have stated. "Romania and Serbia are great friends," Dacic said on Thursday, pointing to Bucharest's support to Serbia's EU pathway and understanding in terms of the problems that Serbia is facing, Kosovo and Metohija included. "As sincere friends, we should discuss problems openly and solve them in a concrete and practical manner without the unnecessary dose of politicization," Dacic said. "There is no reason why Serbia should be troubled with the Romanian national minority and the Romanians who live in Serbia when Romania is a friendly country. We do not need Brussels to solve these problems," he underlined. Ponta said that the minorities connect the two countries, adding that both sides need to engage in order to secure all rights of the Serb minority in Romania and the Romanian minority in Serbia.
