This will happen in October, the Parliament Committee on Administrative, Budgetary, Mandate and Immunity Issues said at a meeting they held Friday.
The CEFC is dedicated to research and international cooperation in the fields of energy security, geopolitics and geoeconomics, the parliament committee said.
Jeremić informed the committee in writing of his intention to join the CEFC on September 25.
Chairman of the Administrative Committee Zoran Babić said that independent MP Jeremić does not hold a permanent position in the parliament and hence the committee is under no obligation to give any positive opinion concerning Jeremić’s performance of other work or activities.
Jeremić, who previously served as Serbia's foreign minister and until recently as president of the UN General Assembly, said upon his return from New York to Belgrade that he will establish an institute of international relations and sustainable development.
He was a member of the Democratic Party (DS) until its executive board expelled him earlier this year after he refused to resign as MP, despite the now opposition party's new leadership's policy that all its members who had served in the cabinet should resign from parliament.
