BELGRADE Ivica Dacic says he is "ready to end negotiations with Pristina" if a ban on his entry to Kosovo during the election campaign in the province remains in force. The prime minister added on Friday that Pristina "fears the implementation of the Brussels agreement." Dacic: Pristina "afraid" of Brussels agreement “We will not tolerate Pristina's blackmail. Aleksandar Vucic and I have risked our careers, even lives, because we received threats from various extremists. We were convinced that it is good for Serbia and I initialed that agreement. If I cannot go to Kosovo, everything will become pointless," Dacic said in an interview to the Belgrade-based daily Nase Novine. He said that he had not been taken aback by the ban, adding that it was evident that Pristina feared the implementation of the Brussels agreement. “They began with obstructions when the agreement on elections was reached. At first, concerning ballot papers on which they wanted to put Kosovo's coat of arms, then regarding a place for a Serb in the Central Election Commission. Then electoral rolls became problematic, and finally this scandalous decision,” the prime minister said. Dacic said he had got an inkling that something like that might happen, about which he informed the ambassadors of "the Quint" countries, to whom he said that "if Pristina introduced the ban, there would be no point in him, as the person who initialed the Brussels agreement, personally engaging and urging Kosovo Serbs to take part in the forthcoming local elections." "I requested an explanation from Brussels," Dacic said, adding that it triggered a reaction, as EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton scheduled for Monday a meeting with him and Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci in Brussels. Dacic says that he asked to meet Ashton before the meeting and inform her about the stands from which Serbia "cannot possibly depart." Tanjug Nase novine
