BELGRADE Ivica Dacic says he and SNS leader Aleksandar Vucic reached an agreement on the dismissal of Belgrade Mayor Dragan Djilas. At the same time, the Serbian prime minister and leader of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS), noted that he "has not heard that Vucic is insisting on elections." Dacic not afraid of elections, but finds them illogical Dacic added that he believes "it is not logical for Belgrade to be the only city where election would be held instead of just changing the ruling coalition." Dacic said that he is "not afraid" of elections but that it is logical to ask why Belgrade should be the only city in Serbia where the elections would be run after dismissals. “In this case, local elections should be run across Serbia,” Dacic said. Asked about the next move when it comes to the city authorities since the SNS is insisting on the elections, he said that he "has not heard that they are insisting on this." “When I say the SNS, I think of Vucic. We have not discussed that,” Dacic said during a conference in Belgrade on Wednesday dubbed “Serbia and Germany - Asymmetrical Reality”. Dacic said that the SPS did not have a reason to launch an initiative to topple itself from power in Belgrade, but it has reached an agreement with the SNS on the issue. "It was agreed only to dismiss Djilas while other issues such as staff changes, election of new leadership, policy concept and the response to the question how long will these authorities last will be agreed in the coming period," he said. Dacic said that he "cannot see why there is so much fuss about the change of authorities in Belgrade when Djilas does not have the majority support now."
