BELGRADE The Socialists (SPS) are yet to hold official talks on the fate of their coalition government in Belgrade, says new Transport Minister Aleksandar Antic. This SPS official, who until recently served as president of the Belgrade City Assembly, said that the position on this issue of First Deputy PM and SNS party leader Aleksandar Vucic was now awaited. "Vucic's position on Belgrade now awaited" "Mr. Vucic has not yet come out with any stance on the situation in Belgrade. As long as he does not, I can take all other discussions as the stirring of the political atmosphere," he told the public broadcaster RTS on Friday. Antic added that his departure from the city administration "upset the whole situation and launched the story about the recomposition of city government," - where the Socialists are in coalition with the Democrats (DS). "Now different options are opening up and they need to be discussed," he said, adding that he believes that this is a topic that should be considered "primarily with partners and not in public" - but that "there are still no prerequisites for this conversation." "Mr. Vucic at this time enjoys great popularity among the people, and perhaps has the greatest legitimacy to talk about these things," Antic noted, and added that the SPS was "waiting for him to come up with some initiatives." Antic was also quoted as saying that SPS leader and Prime Minister Ivica Dacic "has not commented publicly on this," but that instead, he "came out with answers to a reporter's questions, that were caused by various statements made by people from the SNS."
