This was announced on Monday by Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying.

This will be Nikolić's first visit to China since assuming the presidential office.

Nikolić visited China in November 2010 in his capacity as the leader of the Serb Progressive Party.

The traditionally good bilateral relations between the two countries were further strengthened by a strategic partnership in 2009.

China has been strongly supportive of Serbia's position not to recognize the unilateral declaration of independence of Kosovo.

An agreement on economic and technical cooperation in infrastructural project, signed in 2009, gave rise to more intensive economic relations between the two countries, including two capital infrastructure projects - a bridge over the Danube, and works on the Kostolac power plant.

In October 2011, Serbia's power company EPS and CEE and SEG consortium signed a protocol on cooperation worth almost two billion dollars.

During 2012, several projects were launched in cooperation with Chinese companies, including work on Corridor 11, the Pojate-Preljina highway, and the Novi Sad-Ruma-Šabac highway.
