NOVI SAD - Branko Ruzic, chairman of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) stated that Dacic and Vucic will not swap positions. Branko Ruzic, chairman of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) Executive Committee and SPS whip, dismissed on Tuesday the announcements according to which Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic and First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic would swap their positions in the Serbian government. Ruzic: Dacic, Vucic not to swap positions Regarding the stances of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) officials that the first deputy prime minister should assume the office of prime minister as part of the government reshuffle, Ruzic said in an interview for the Novi Sad-based daily Dnevnik that Vucic and Dacic share a common fate and bear a huge responsibility for all strategic decisions in the country, stressing that they are doing this brilliantly at the positions they currently hold. Asked whether such SNS stands put pressure on the SPS to cede the leading office in the government, Ruzic said that there have not been any official talks on this topic, adding that he believes that the legitimate stance of SNS high officials is no pressure, but rather a desire and an assessment that they are entitled to. Commenting on the possibility for Dacic to renounce on one of the two positions in the government, Ruzic said that the SPS leader has been labeled as the best minister in the previous period, adding that his excellent work at the prime minister's office shows that the SPS was right in claiming that he can meet the full capacity of his obligations. Ruzic said that the government structure should be defined by the end of the month including the names of all officials. /Tanjug, file/ Beta
