BELGRADE - Serbia's Prime Minister Ivica Dacic said on Tuesday there were many problems with holding the local elections in Kosovo. He added that Pristina was trying to stress independence in every way, even though the Brussels agreement was neutral in terms of Kosovo's status. Dacic: Many problems concerning elections in Kosovo Progress in the talks with Pristina about holding the local elections in northern Kosovo will be closely tied to the holding of the first intergovernmental conferene between Serbia and the EU in January next year and Serbia's progress in EU integration, he noted. The whole government stated that the talks should continue and there should be an agreement on the normalization of the relations with Pristina and it even called on the Serbs to vote in the local election, he told TV B92. However, Pristina insists that the ballots should have the Republic of Kosovo printed on them, Dacic explained. "If we said the agreement was status neutral, what does this mean now," he stated, adding that Kosovo's Prime Minister Hasim Taci accepted one thing in Brussels and then Albanian officials in working groups told something completely different. "I really think we need to push that issue to its extreme," he stressed, adding that the Serbian government had put its political authority on the line by taking that the agreement with Pristina made in Brussels on April 19 was neutral in terms of status.
