BRUSSELS PM Ivica Dacic says that "small incidents can lead to dire consequences and that we should do everything to avoid them." This was his comment in the wake of an armed incident that happened near the administrative line between central Serbia and Kosovo and Metohija on Sunday. "Minor incidents can lead to dire consequences" In an incident that occurred in the area ofthe village of Borovac, near Kursumlija, when "several people" opened automatic weapons fire at a Serbian MUP Gendarmerie patrol. It was reported on Monday that the assailants were ethnic Albanian timber thieves who had crossed the administrative line from Kosovo. Several were injured during the incident. “It is obvious that we have a violation of an agreement we reached and that a number of armed men entered the Ground Safety Zone in order to harvest trees illegally, which is nothing new. This has been happening in the region of Kursumlija frequently and we often have incidents there,” Dacic told reporters in Brussels, after the 13th round of the Kosovo dialogue. The Serbian prime minister said that he "mentioned" the incident during the talks as everything should be done to prevent such incidents from happening in the future, adding that the Pristina side was "not keen to discuss the issue more closely."
