BELGRADE Aleksandar Vucic said on Tuesday he is "completely convinced that despite contradictory news, Serbia will get a date for starting accession talks with the EU. The first deputy prime minister also said this would be "without new conditions and checks and without waiting for a new session of the European Council in December." Vucic "completely convinced" about getting date "If I am wrong, I will admit my mistake, but the mistake will not be a product of a poor effort or lack of engagement and energy on Serbia's part, but a product of someone's political will which has nothing to do with the results we have achieved," Vucic told reporters at Belgrade Fair. Vucic said he expects good news for Serbia, but that he would not call bad news good just to have something to celebrate. "Unlike other people and many politicians, I do not like to deceive anyone, least of all our people," said Vucic. He said those who might want to impose additional conditions would have a difficult time explaining just what requirements Serbia has failed to meet. "In two forums, the vote was 26 to one yesterday, which means Serbia is not alone. I am convinced our German friends will understand this message in the best way and will make a decision in the Bundestag (German parliament) the day after tomorrow which will be above all just," said Vucic.
