Jovanović reelected as LDP leader

BELGRADE Cedomir Jovanovic has been reelected as leader of of the opposition Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). He was elected the party president with a 41.3 percent of the vote in the LDP Assembly direct elections on Saturday. Jovanovic reelected as LDP leader Ivan Andric, Dusan Mijic, Bojan Djuric and Dusica Andjelkovic were elected as LDP deputy leaders and Natasa Micic was elected as chair of the party's political council. Speaking at the assembly meeting celebration, Jovanovic said that it is essential Serbia is given a date for the start of the talks to join the European family. Speaking of the Brussels agreement on the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina, Jovanovic said that "no one else" could have reached but Prime Minister Ivica Dacic and Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, as “everyone else would be knocked down for wishing such a thing." The LDP leader said that “Serbia is an unfortunate country” because it has been led in a wrong way politically, adding that “the country needs to be organized anew, and the first step must be a willingness to build it on a different foundation.” (Tanjug, file) Tanjug

Ivan Andrić, Dusan Mijić, Bojan Đurić and Dušica Anđelković were elected as LDP deputy leaders and Nataša Mićić was elected as chair of the party's political council.

Speaking at the assembly meeting celebration, Jovanović said that it is essential Serbia is given a date for the start of the talks to join the European family.
