BELGRADE Serbian PM Ivica Dacic says he believes that after his meeting with the Kosovo PM Serbia was "certainly closer to a positive decision" on the EU talks date. PM: Serbia closer to EU talks date Dacic said after his meeting in Belgrade on Friday with the head of the delegation of the European Parliament for southeast Europe, Eduard Kukan, that if there was no decision on the date, "the credibility of the EU, not of Serbia," would be brought into question. Dacic said that the meeting with Hashim Thaci agreed on the appointment of the police commander for northern Kosovo, as well as on some controversial questions about local elections, which are tentatively expected to be held on November 3. Kukan said that Serbia had done "a lot of concrete things the European path," and therefore deserves a positive decision of the European Council. He told at a joint press conference that the "concrete things" concern not only reforms, but also the dialogue with Pristina and the implementation of the Brussels agreement. Kukan added that a negative decision "could call into question the credibility of the EU," adding that he hoped the decision would be positive. Kukan also noted that EU High Representative Catherine Ashton had sent a letter to EU member states, that it was positive and objective, while in some segments it "points out to the things that have not been done and remain to be solved."
