ZUBIN POTOK Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija Director Aleksandar Vulin said on Tuesday that there was "no need for setting up the assembly of Kosovo in Leposavic." Representatives of Serbs in northern Kosovo announced last week that they would form the assembly on Thursday. "No need for setting up assembly of Kosovo" "Kosovo Serbs should carry out all their activities with the consent of their government," Vulin said in Zubin Potok. He added that Kosovo Serbs need to discuss the stand on the proposition concerning the constitution of the Kosovo assembly and all other stands with representatives of the Serbian government and adopt a joint conclusion as to what should be done and how. In any case, such an act has to be ratified by the Serbian parliament, he said. Vulin voiced the opinion that there is no need for the constitution of the assembly at this point and that representatives should keep maintaining good communication with the Serbian government and continue working together with it. The constitution of the assembly of the autonomous province of Kosovo and Metohija was announced by some of the municipal presidents from northern Kosovo who do not agree with the implementation of the agreement on normalisation of relations with Pristina signed in Brussels on April 19, which envisages that a community of Serb municipalities should be set up within Kosovo institutions. Vulin visited the works on the reconstruction of one of the streets in the northern Kosovo municipality in which the Office for Kosovo invested RSD 22 million. Zubin Potok Mayor Slavisa Ristic said that the reconstruction would be completed in a month and a half and that a new part of the street would be built which will connect the downtown with the sports centre, primary school and high school.
