BELGRADE Aleksandar Vucic says the SNS presidency will hold a session before he meets with PM Ivica Dacic and Finance Minister Mladjan Dinkic to discuss spending cuts. Vucic is Serbia's deputy prime minister and leader of the Serb Progressive Party (SNS). SNS presidency session before discussion on cuts Asked about spending cuts after addressing the Holy Assembly of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Vucic said he has been "wary of big words and populist statements." "The SNS Presidency will first hold a session, so that I could talk to representatives of other parties, but my position at the Presidency session, which I believe will be adopted, will be to accept measures which can heal our country and society, no matter how difficult they may be," said Vucic. Much more important than keeping support among voters is that the people no longer live this bad or even worse, Vucic reiterated. "It is better that our support drop 20 percent and that employment go up 10 or 15 percent, and I think this is responsible behavior, but it remains to be seen whether our partners will agree to this," said Vucic. In addition to the SNS, the ruling coalition in Serbia is headed by Dacic's Socialist Party of Serbia and Dinkic's United Regions of Serbia. Asked about the acquittal of former State Security (DB) officials Jovica Stanisic and Franko Simatovic at the Hague Tribunal, Vucic said the ruling was "good for Serbia," but would not elaborate any further.
