BELGRADE The Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) has announced that it will ask the Constitutional Court to appraise the Kosovo agreement reached in Brussels in April. DSS Vice-President and MP Slobodan Samardzic said on Wednesday that the petition will seek the appraisal of the deal's legality and constitutionality. "That procedure will be launched based on the signatures of 25 MPs and in agreement with the representatives of Serbs in northern Kosovo and Metohija - that is, the leaders of their municipalities," Samardzic explained. In a statement for the Tanjug news agency, he stressed that this will give the court "another chance to prove if it really is the Constitutional Court, or a state organ controlled by the political authorities." "We heard yesterday that the Serbs are very interested in launching this procedure and in directing the attention at that procedure in the coming days or weeks," he added.
