DSS leader "convinced" Kosovo deal will fail

BELGRADE Vojislav Kostunica said on Thursday that he is certain that the Kosovo agreement recently reached in Brussels would not be implemented. Kostunica is an MP and leader of the opposition Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS), who previously served as Yugoslav president and Serbian prime minister. DSS leader "convinced" Kosovo deal will fail He explained that the DSS was "completely supportive of, and was joining" the peaceful resistance to the agreement of the Serb people from Kosovo and Metohija. "We will be with our people in Kosovo and all officials and MPs from the DSS will join them in their peaceful resistance. This is a fateful issue for Serbia's survival and I am convinced that the people will win, and that this agreement will not be implemented," Kostunica said in a written statement. He also called on other organizations and the citizens to join the peaceful resistance of Serbs in Kosovo. "When will we stand with our people if not now, when the authorities wish to bring down the state of Serbia in Kosovo? I am once again warning the authorities not to use force against their own people in Kosovo and Metohija because that would destabilize the whole country," Kostunica concluded.
