Serbian president apologizes for crimes in Bosnia

BELGRADE Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic has apologized for all crimes committed in Bosnia-Herzegovina by any individual on Serbia’s behalf. He told Bosnian BHT TV that the genocide in Srebrenica needed to be proven first but added that he was “on his knees, asking for forgiveness for Serbia”. They agreed that there should no longer be any differences and misunderstandings between them and that the two countries should have even stronger ties in the future and that the events from the 90s must never happen again. “As a guarantee of the Dayton Treaty, Serbia wishes Bosnia peace, stability and the best possible development in terms of economy and all other areas. Serbia wants to help Bosnia on this path. Serbia is always there for Bosnia and it will provide assistance if need be, but we would like to see the two entities resolve their problems and cooperate on their own,“ Nikolic said at the time. The Serbian president said he hoped that he would establish communication with him and that meetings between representatives of Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina would not be canceled anymore.
