BELGRADE Aleksandar Vucic on Tuesday announced that he would be traveling tor Moscow in late May - in his capacity as Serbia's defense minister. The first deputy prime minister made the statement after his meeting in Belgrade with Russian Ambassador Aleksandr Chepurin. Vucic meets with Russian envoy, to travel to Moscow in May Vucic and Chepurin discussed the agreement between Belgrade and Pristina that has been recently initialed in Brussels, it was said after the meeting. Vucic "extended thanks to Russia for the great political support that it has been offering to Serbia for preserving its territorial integrity," said a statement. Vucic will thus travel to Russia on May 23, while Shoigu will be here for a return visit in September. The Serbian official "underlined the necessity for further improvement in traditionally good relations between the two countries," added the statement. Vucic and Chepurin "noted that there are prospects for improving economic cooperation between Serbia and Russia," the government's press office announced. Speaking later in the day, Vucic also voiced expectation that he will "go to a major economic forum to be held in Saint Petersburg in June, which will also be attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin and where he should have a series of bilateral meetings."
