BELGRADE Serbia’s First Deputy PM Aleksandar Vucic will today decide whether he will take part in the next round of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue. Vucic has received a written invitation from EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton to attend the next round of the negotiations on April 2. Vucic to decide on participation in dialogue The U.S. has also invited the first deputy prime minister to participate in the talks, Beta news agency has learned from Vucic’s office. “The deputy PM will today talk to Prime Minister Ivica Dacic and President Tomislav Nikolic after which he will decide whether he will go to Brussels,” his office explained His associates stressed that results of the talks were more important to Vucic than which politicians would take part in the talks. Daily Blic writes that Washington and Brussels insist on his more active involvement in the Belgrade-Pristina talks. Trade and Telecommunications Minister Rasim Ljajic told Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) that the outcome of the negotiations would not be known until April 2 but that if the same document from the previous round was offered to Belgrade, it would certainly reject it. “Intensive diplomatic activities are underway, we are looking for a compromise, the stakes are high because the biggest state issue is on the table and that outcome will not be known until April 2,” he explained. The U.S. has also invited the first deputy prime minister to participate in the talks, Beta news agency has learned from Vučić’s office.

“The deputy PM will today talk to Prime Minister Ivica Dačić and President Tomislav Nikolić after which he will decide whether he will go to Brussels,” his office explained

His associates stressed that results of the talks were more important to Vučić than which politicians would take part in the talks.
