BELGRADE Serbian Deputy Prime Minister for EU Integration Suzana Grubjesic has stated that a new round of the Belgrade-Pristina talks in Brussels will be difficult. According to her, difficult negotiations lie ahead bearing in mind that Kosovo Albanians will not accept executive power for a community of Serb municipalities. Next round of dialogue will be difficult, deputy PM says The community of Serbs municipalities would be in accordance with European standards of decentralization, she explained. Grubjesic says that top state officials are expected to do everything in order to reach a compromise solution with Kosovo Albanians but that it will not be easy. “This will not be easy at all, bearing in mind Albanians’ refusal to grant the community of Serb municipalities authorities in accordance with European standards of decentralization,” she told Belgrade-based tabloid Kurir. Former Serbian Ambassador to Berlin Ognjen Pribicevic believes that the meeting is important and a turning point but that chances of getting a date for the start of the EU accession talks are becoming slimmer. He added that EU High Representative Catherine Ashton had invited Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic, Prime Minister Ivica Dacic and First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic to Brussels in order to convey her message about the dialogue and hear their individual positions. “Our leaders have been making different statements recently that reflected miscommunication between them,” Pribicevic said. Ashton will on Monday receive the three senior Serbian officials, her office announced on Friday. She will visit Pristina on March 14 and meet with Kosovo PM Hashim Thaci and leaders of political parties. According to a release, these meetings are a part of consultations for the next round of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue which is scheduled for March 20. Suzana Grubjesic (Beta, file) Beta
