WASHINGTON The U.S. gives its full support to Serbia's European path, U.S. congressmen told Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic on Wednesday. They added that the U.S. also supported the Serbian government's efforts to find a just solution to the problems in Kosovo by peaceful means. “U.S. gives full support to Serbia's EU pathway” On Wednesday, the first day of his two-day visit to Washington, Dacic met with Congressmen Robert Aderholt, Eliot Angel, Dana Rorabecker and Tad Poe, the Serbian government's press office said in a release on the same day. “The U.S. officials said that the U.S. is giving its full support to Serbia's European path. The U.S. lauds the reforms in Serbia and efforts made by the Serbian government to reach a just solution to the problems in Kosovo and Metohija through the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina and using peaceful means," the statement said. The prime minister said that the aim of the meeting with the congressmen was to inform them about the Serbian government's political platform and priorities, particularly in the area of European integration and efforts to find a just solution to the problems in Kosovo. “The Serbian government is doing everything to ensure a better life for its citizens, attract foreign investment and establish better relations in the region,” said Dacic. “The U.S. has pledged its full support to Serbia in its European integration process. I also believe that after these discussions, U.S. investment in Serbia will increase,” said the Serbian prime minister, who will also meet with the directors of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Besides having a series of meetings with officials of the U.S. administration and security sector, the Serbian prime minister will attend the 2013 National Prayer Breakfast, where U.S. President Barack Obama will be a special guest speaker. The National Prayer Breakfast is hosted by members of the United States Congress and is organized on their behalf by The Fellowship Foundation, a conservative Christian organization.
