“Progressives will discuss early elections Monday”

BELGRADE Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) deputy leader Zorana Mihajlovic has stated that the SNS Presidency will discuss the latest political events in Serbia on Monday. She said that the party would at the session present its stance on the current political situation, adding that the SNS “is not running away from elections”. “Progressives will discuss early elections Monday” According to Mihajlovic, the Progressives will also discuss relations in the government and early elections. “The SNS’ position is that we are not running away from the elections but it is our wish to do everything possible through reforms, combat against corruption and crime and to start making changes in Serbia,” the energy minister stressed. She added that the SNS Presidency held regular meetings every two or three weeks and that the elections and relations in the government had been discussed at the previous meetings as well. According to Mihajlovic, the SNS is a backbone of the government and it is the party’s goal to do everything it can in the economy and combat against corruption and crime. “We have shown in the past months that those who stole from the state need to be held responsible and that we on the other hand want to do everything to get out of the social and economic crisis,” she added. When asked if early elections were possible, the SNS official said that the Progressives needed to act responsibly as the largest party. “That is why we are carefully considering everything that is happening in Serbia and the government, but also what will happen in the future period,” Mihajlovic explained. “As far as the elections are concerned, we are not running away from them.
