BELGRADE OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Knut Vollebaek told B92 that he was “satisfied with his visit and talks” in the southern town of Bujanovac. Vollebaek conferred with all political leaders of ethnic Albanians in southern Serbia and with Coordination Body for Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja President Zoran Stankovic on Wednesday. We met with people who are trying to work actively on solving issues and that is good,” the OSCE commissioner told B92. His talks with Stankovic lasted almost two hours instead of the planned 50 minutes. Ahead of the meeting with Stankovic, Vollebaek had an hour and half long meeting with the political representatives of ethnic Albanians in the OSCE office in Bujanovac. The participants of the meetings did not make any official statements afterward. MP and Party of Democratic Action (PDD) leader Riza Halimi said that Vollebaek “this time received some information he did not have until now”. PDD high-ranking official Shaip Kamberi told B92 on Wednesday that ethnic Albanians had used the case of a removed monument in downtown Presevo to “discuss a wide spectrum of problems in the Presevo Valley that are based on the Convention on Human Rights with the OSCE high commissioner”. His talks with Stanković lasted almost two hours instead of the planned 50 minutes.
